Gentoo, ATI Rage 128, Dell Precision 340: msg#00131video.dri.user
Hi folks, I'm trying to get DRM enabled on my machine, mostly so I can mess around with FlightGear :) I've got a Dell precision 340 with an ATI Rage 128 (32 mg) on the motherboard. I'm running Gentoo 1.4 rc 4. I've compiled ATI Rage support into the kernel, and followed the troubleshooting guide in the faq. The one problem I'm having is that nothing is created in /dev/dri. As you can see from my log: drmOpenDevice: minor is 0 drmOpenDevice: node name is /dev/dri/card0 drmOpenDevice: open result is -1, (No such device) drmOpenDevice: open result is -1, (No such device) drmOpenDevice: Open failed drmOpenDevice: minor is 0 This error message repeats 14 times. Is there something I need to do to get the box to recognize the dri subsystem?
