Opteron, GinGin and PCIGart

I am getting a weird error when attempting to run "ForcePCIMode" on an 
opteron with a Radeon 7500 PCI. I have also used a 7000 with the same results.

(EE) RADEON(0): RADEONCPGetBuffer: CP start -1020
(EE) RADEON(0): RADEONCPGetBuffer: CP GetBuffer -1020
(EE) RADEON(0): GetBuffer timed out, resetting engine...
(EE) RADEON(0): RADEONCPGetBuffer: CP reset -1020
(EE) RADEON(0): RADEONCPGetBuffer: CP start -1020
(EE) RADEON(0): RADEONCPGetBuffer: CP GetBuffer -1020
(EE) RADEON(0): GetBuffer timed out, resetting engine...

I am running the stock XFree86 which comes with GinGin.
