I am not sure I understand you.

The problem is after I install the drivers (no X
running) and do startx, everything is fine.

If I then reboot, no X running, and do startx, it does
not work.

Also, how do I unload modules? I am somewhat of a
newbie, so there a few gaps in my knowledge :)
