M7 LW Problems (cont'd)

Thanks for your help yesterday... sorry to post a new
thread.

I managed to get dri working on my 2.4.21 custom
kernel, finally...

As a reference to anyone else trying this, there is a
sample .config file from another owner of a Inspiron
4150 laptop here :

My problem now is the following. After download the
new 0714 radeon drivers, and installing them (no X
running), when I start X everything is good.

When I reboot, after making no changes, dri is
disabled... I don't see any error messages, agpgart
problem is gone, and the XF86Config file remains the
same after the reboot... so what is up with that?!?

Futhermore, this problem is totally repeatable.
