Re: Fwd: Linux Installer for Blender: msg#00226video.blender.devel
Hi all, This is maybe getting a bit off-topic for the list, but I want to address Agreed. Nitpicking GPL lines over this is a waste. Blender binaries can be zipped, packed, encrypted, and transported in many ways. For as long the Blender sources are GPL it won't matter at all for me. It's just a kind offer of a company to provide us with an installer, something certain users would appreciate. My proposal is to incorporate this request in the work we still have to do on reviewing specs & fixing the ways a Blender binary is installed, and how its dependencies are handled for install. And if RawByte likes to offer a Blender installer on their site, and/or offer to Linux distros, they have my blessings. :) -Ton- ------------------------------------------------------------------------ -- Ton Roosendaal Blender Foundation ton@xxxxxxxxxxx http://www.blender.org |
