Re: Fwd: Linux Installer for Blender: msg#00204video.blender.devel
Maybe I should provide more useful information: For unixish platforms (which is all i can talk about, and which constitute the majority of platforms blender supports), the story could go: main binary: /usr/local/bin plugins: /usr/local/share/blender/plugins (with the default plugins dir in .B.blend pointing there, of course) configuration files (.B.blend, .Blanguages, .Bfs, etc.) /usr/local/etc/blender/B.blend /usr/local/etc/blender/Blanguages etc. ADDITIONALLY, on first startup, Blender should launch a user-specific installation (much like The GIMP), copying the files from /usr/local/etc/blender/ over to ~/.blender/ as desired/needed by the user to 'localize' his/her configuration. | alexander ewering instinctive new media | ae[@]instinctive[.]de http://www[.]instinctive[.]de |
