Re: Client on RHLinux 9?: msg#00001

Subject: Re: Client on RHLinux 9?
Hi, Bill,

Which versions of GTK+ and GLIB are installed on your machine?

There is a known problem with recent versions of these libraries which results in problems with SourceOffSite. SourceOffSite was built with GTK+ 1.2.7 and GLIB 1.2.7. However, we have found that newer versions of GTK++ (especially 1.2.9) stop SOS from functioning properly.

One workaround at this time would be to install either v1.2.7 or v1.2.8 of the GTK+ and GLIB libraries.

Another possibility is to build the client yourself with the newer libraries. You can do this by requesting the source code for the SOS 3.5 Unix clients at:

http://www.sourcegear.com/sos/support/classicCode.asp

We do plan to update the SOS Unix client in version 4.1.

Please let me know if I can be of any further assistance.

Best wishes,

Hi All,

Has anyone had any luck getting the client to run on RHLinux 9?

I have tried both the RPM and scripted install, and they claim to succeed.
But the program dies immediately without explanation on startup.

I had an associate try it on RHLinux 6.x, and it doesn't work there either.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
