Can't branch from a label: msg#00001

Subject:	Can't branch from a label

I'm trying to branch a recursive label that I made, but when I do a "Show Labels..." on the code branch, then right-click the label in the Recurive Labels section to branch it, the branching option is greyed out (as is the sharing option). Does anyone know why that would happen?
