Choosing A Webhost:
A web hosting service is a type of Internet hosting service that allows individuals and organizations to provide their own website accessible via the World Wide Web. Web hosts are companies that provide space on a server they own for use by their clients as well as providing Internet connectivity, typically in a data center. Web hosts can also provide data center space and connectivity to the Internet for servers they do not own to be located in their data center, called colocation. more...

I've talked with Jeff Clausius and he thinks it might be a problem with
Vault not expiring old sessions. This causes the table that stores
session information (specifically which things have been checked out
during the session) to grow really large. When the client asks for
the new checkout list (after the repository delta is retrieved, but the
status bar still says "Retrieving Repository Structure"), the
server spends too long running the query.

If there is little to no network activity during the time when Vault is
waiting, this is more likely the problem.

Jeff asks that you run the following SQL query on the sgvault database
to verify this cause:

SELECT COUNT(*) FROM sgvault.dbo.tblsessions
SELECT COUNT(*) FROM sgvault.dbo.tblsessionrellocks
