Subject: Re: [p4] Possible Database Corruption - truncated submitted changelist descriptions
Just a wild guess, but maybe the versionp of the server (the database schema) and the client are too far apart ...?

During a recent upgrade, prior to upgrading our server, the latest clients were not able to extract certain data from the older server.

Over the course of three years af Perforce updates, things become depricated, or are changed and suddenly may confuse Perforce.

Just a random guess, though. My error messages were more along the lines of the history of a file not being retrieveable.

Anyone have any ideas on this? -

We experience a problem whereby some of our submitted changelists
descriptions have been truncated to 20 or 21 characters.

When we dblclick on the change list, we receive this message

    Operation: user-describe
    Operation 'user-describe' failed.
    Change 4174 description missing!

We are using Server 2000.1/17079 and Client Version: 2003.2 61600

Any assistance would be much appreciated.
