Multiple issues with 1.8.1

I'm having two issues with version 1.8.1. The first has already been 
reported by Roger Fretwell here:

My experience was exactly as he described. I also tried the ntserver 
protocol and got a similar error message.

The second issue affects at least 1.8.0, and 1.6.14 (I don't think I 
actually tried it with 1.8.1 before reverting it back to 1.8.0 in order 
to fix the first issue). Try the following steps:

1. Check out a module.

2. Right-click on one of the files in the sandbox and select 
CVS->Remove. Note that the message gives instructions for restoring the 
file: Restore it from the recycle bin and do a CVS Add.

3. Attempt to restore the file as per the instructions.

Observed results:

Restoring the file from the Recycle Bin works just fine. The file status 
is "Removed". However, there doesn't seem to be any way to Add it. Right 
clicking on the file gives minimal menus (Help, About, Preferences). 
Right clicking on the folder gives a "CVS Add Contents..." option, but 
selecting this results in a message saying that there is nothing to add.
