Choosing A Webhost:
A web hosting service is a type of Internet hosting service that allows individuals and organizations to provide their own website accessible via the World Wide Web. They are, but a couple of problems you may encounter:

* CVSNT extended the RCS file format at some point, so any tools you may
use
to parse the RCS files (viewcvs) will need upgrading. Any file you
commit
after the upgrade will be converted (new properties for each commit).
* If you use Eclipse, you may run into problems due to its use of a
custom
CVS client.

The devs I work with who use Eclipse reported commits that were not
found in subsequent updates (which is the main reason we rolled back to
1.11). Also, Eclipse breaks completely in the latest CVSNT.

I'm not saying don't upgrade, but keep in mind the file format changes
often have unintended side effects.

Cheers,
Andy

1 .8.1

Ok we are in the process of moving to a new server anyway, so thats
not a problem. One thing though, are all the repository files
backwards compatible? Meaning is there any issue with just copying
over the old repository directory to the new server with the newer
version of cvsnt?

Thanks for your help
John
