Problem is when your network file system does not support exclusive file
open.
CVS is unable to lock directory, and that can damage your files when two
persons are commiting files.
In your configuration everything works ok (except worst access time to
files), because w2k network drive has the same facilities as CVS native OS
file system -- also W2K.

P.S.
But it is still not good idea to keep repository on network drive.
