Have a look in the archives about 2-4 months ago for long and detailed
thread on the usefulness of this function.

After I posted this yesterday, and well before the moderators had a
chance to look at it, I quit wincvs, then started it again, and found
I had essentially no problems with typing in the cvs release command.
I suppose I should post this as a bug?
But I do wonder -- do wincvs users simply not bother to release
things, or is it just so easy to type in that no one's bothered making
a button in the gui for it?
