If you specify the CVSROOT as you do with both user and password then
there is no need for a login, CVS will do that automatically for you.
Just use commands like normal. Example on a command prompt:
set CVSROOT=:pserver:username:password@hostname:/var/opt/cvs/src
cvs co module
This should give you the module files OK.

Subject: [cvsgui] CVS PSERVER METHOD
Hi
I have a repositoy to which I connect using the pserver method.
If I do "cvs -d :pserver:username:password@hostname:/var/opt/cvs/src
login" from my dos command line from my NT workstation this logs in
without asking for a password.
If I do the same from my unix prompt, I get
Logging in to username:password@hostname)
CVS password:
Fatal error, aborting.
username:password: no such user.
Is there a reason for this?
The CVS on my NT machine is the one that comes with WinCVS 1.3.8.1
which comes up as "Concurrent Versions System (CVSNT) 1.11.1.3
(Build 57a) (client/server)".
The one on the unix machine is "Concurrent Versions System (CVS) 1.11
(client/server)"
Any ideas?
thanks
Parag
