Hi. I finally got an opportunity to set up cvsnt instead of using the
WinCVS "local" options.
I have managed to get it working at the command line using Bo's excellent
instructions (http://w1.858.telia.com/~u85831169/InstallCVSNT.html), but I
keep getting an error when trying to use the Admin>Login option in the
WinCVS GUI.
The error occurs in cvs.exe (not WinCVS) -
[
The instruction at "0x0043e0be" referenced memory at "0x00000020". The
memory could not be "read".
C:\Program Files\WinCVS 1.3\cvs.exe
]
Using the same cvs.exe at the commandline works with:
set cvsroot=:pserver:gyoung@adminsvr:/main
cvs login
Using the Admin>Macros admin>Get the cvs version returns:
Concurrent Versions System (CVSNT) 1.11.1.3 (Build 57a) (client/server)
The version of WinCVS I use is:
WinCVS 1.3.8.1 Beta 8 (Build 1)
Operating system version is:
Windows 2000 (5.00.2195)
My settings in WinCVS are:
Authentication: pserver
Path: /main
Host address: adminsvr
User name: gyoung
CVSROOT: gyoung@adminsvr:/main
The WinCVS message window reads:
NEW CVSROOT: gyoung@adminsvr:/main (password authentication)
cvs login
and then the error comes up.
TIA for any assistance.
Regards, Grant
