I just did some more research on this and found two quite different
solutions, none of which I have tested:

A. :pserver;port=[port]:[user]@[machine]:/[path]

B. :pserver:[user]@[machine]#[port]:/[path]

...where the parts in brackets are to be substituted.

It also seems that you could specify the port via the CVS_AUTH_PORT
environment variable.

Maybe you could give one of those a try.
