"cdv.py commit" error on Windows: msg#00002

version-control.codeville.devel

Subject: "cdv.py commit" error on Windows

I'm trying to use Codeville-0.1.13 on a Windows XP system to commit some
new files to a new repository. I've had no problems using this same
version of Codeville on the same data on a Windows 2000 system, so I
doubt it's a Codeville bug. The problem is that "cdv.py commit" quits
with a "No such file or directory" error and it's not specifying _which
file_ or _which directory_ it can't find.

Error information is as follows:

Traceback (most recent call last):
File "C:\Python23\Scripts\cdv.py", line 478, in run
retval = command[0](co, optlist, args)
File "C:\Python23\Scripts\cdv.py", line 163, in run_commit
return commit(co, remote, comment, tstamp=tstamp, backup=backup,
files=args)

File "C:\Python23\Lib\site-packages\Codeville\client.py", line 1104,
in commit

commit_files, comment = _commit_helper(co, commit_files)
File "C:\Python23\Lib\site-packages\Codeville\client.py", line 1035,
in _commit_helper
if spawn(os.P_WAIT, args[0], args):
OSError: [Errno 2] No such file or directory

I was initially suspicious about potential problems communicating with
the remote Codeville server, so I scrapped the .cdv directory, "init"ed
a new one, set my user and repository values, added the files, and
instead tried "cdv.py commit -n", only to get the same results.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled Codeville-0.1.13 a few times to verify
that I'm not using a mismatched version of client.py. This system runs a
basic, un-fooled-around-with install of Python-2.3.5 + psyco-1.4.

Any insight into the problem is appreciated.

Toby
