All, We are seeking two Senior SCM engineers to join our group at McData. The job location are: McDATA Corporation 100 Mount Holly Bypass Lumberton, NJ 08048 McDATA Santa Clara Office 4555 Great America Parkway Santa Clara, CA 95054-1208 US Here is the job description : BUILD and RELEASE ENGINEER RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for the management of the source code, test cases and related build artifacts that comprise the company's products. Develop build scripts and define build system components. Document the build system and process. Ensure that the product development and test organizations are fully utilizing the software configuration management system in the most effective way. Ensure that the products are building successfully every day, and that the automated test suites are running after every successful build. When problems arise, this person is responsible for getting the builds and tests running again, and for taking the lead on determining the source of the problem and working with developers and testers as needed to remedy. Ensure that the company is effectively using the defect tracking system, and that it is deeply integrated with the software configuration management system. Become the resident expert on the software tools used by the developers and testers, and integrate tools into the environment where necessary. REQUIRED SKILLS: The following requirements are must have: A BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent. Must have at least 2 years of experience with Base ClearCase software configuration management system and 2 years of UCM. At least 1 year of experience with continuous build systems (Cruise Control, LSF). At least 3 years of experience with Make and/or Ant. At least 1 year of experience with ClearQuest or a similar defect tracking system. Experience building medium to large C++ and Java products. Experience with automated regression testing methods and tools. Strong experience with one or more scripting languages (PERL). Must be proficient Windows and in both Unix/Linux. Working knowledge of major application development environments. Able to demonstrate that a deep understanding of development tools and environments. Strong skills to create new and innovative solutions to long-standing problems in how most companies produce software. DESIRED SKILLS: The following requirements are a big plus: Experience with both embedded product development and PC-based packaged software. Product development experience. Experience with major software architectures and tools including major application servers, databases and component models. Wind River VxWorks and Monta Vista embedded Linux a plus. Experience with Eclipse and Eclipse tool integration. Java and perl scripting skills. Experience with HTML, JSP/Servlet technology. Experience with database management systems, such as Oracle or MySQL. Please let me know if you are interested.
