RE: Changing tab width in graphical tool code listing: msg#00081version-control.bitkeeper.user
As different people have different personal preferences for tab settings, we ban the use of TABs in source files. All our editors (whether on UNIX or Windows) are set up for an indent (normally 4) of whatever personal preference that user has: the editors then insert the right number of spaces for it. This way, anyone can edit any given source file and the result does not end up higgledy piggledy. For example, I have the following settings in my .exrc: set shiftwidth=4 set expandtab set smarttab There are similar settings for other editors that are in use (eg emacs). Obviously, this takes up a little more space in the source files but we don't care: the benefits hugely outweighs the cost. -- Andy, BlueArc Engineering _______________________________________________ Bitkeeper-users mailing list Bitkeeper-users@xxxxxxxxxxxx http://bitmover.com/mailman/listinfo/bitkeeper-users To unsubscribe from this list, go to the above URL, follow instruction at the bottom of the web page.
