1. If you have given permissions of 777 to the cgi-bin
directory - make sure you did a recursive chmod
(option is -R).

2. Check the ownership of the cgi-bin directory -
apache:apache - if not type this at prompt in the
/var/www firectory - "chown -R apache:apache *"

3. Check the httpd.conf file to ensure that it is
correct. if you are not sure here, uninstall apache
and re-install the rpm - apache works like a charm
right out of the box.

Else mail your conf file to me and the ls -lR output
of the /var/www dir to me and I will have a look.
