On Edubuntu and XAMPP

Hi Friends,
  
  Has anybody experimented with using XAMPP on Edubuntu Linux to host 
applications and to use the box as a web server?
  
  Please write back if you have any experience with the above configuration. I 
just need to get a second opinion.
