I recently joined the group and was seeing the
archives . I found that there was plenty of " FLAME_WARS " on this
Certification issue or Institute that teaches to get that RHCE certification .
I do agree that people in this group dont need an RHCE to certify them about
their proficiency in the Redhat Linux or any other distribution , but the
problem comes when the candidate goes to an interview , and says " I KNOW
LINUX " ( Any flavour here ) . They ( The Industry ) want to see it on paper .
One was saying some institute called MIST , One was talking about some
institute call COSS . Well I do agree , it is wrong to start a comparison
chart as we see in these SMS POLLS on TV shows or an opinion poll .
Yes I do agree if the group suggests in the meet about the various
institutes in Hyderabad / Secunderabad and also it would be really good , if
the candidates who got the RHCE talk about those institutes they attended and
talk about their track to the "RHCE Certification " , If I am not wrong its on
RHEL 4 ES for RHCE now . Letting the RHCE certified candidates speak would
be nice . It will be a useful guide to many to plan their careers or
certifications to achieve .
Please correct me if my opinion is wrong , I am open to any opinion . I am
writing this Email after seeing the archives .
