¿Intentaste ejecutar 'apt-get update' tal como te dice el mensaje de error?

Estoy tratando de instalar en mi ubuntu 5.10 en mi
laptop y quiero instalar el ssh server pero cuando
corro apt-get install ssh, me sale:
root@j-maravi1:/# apt-get install ssh

ssh is already the newest version.
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 3 not
upgraded.
