That was the one call center job that didn't head off to a
heavily-accented, higher pay region: bi-lingual representatives.

Learn Spanish with a Midwestern accent, they seem to say, and we want
you. But if you just have a light Midwestern accent and are willing to
work for $10 an hour, sorry, we'd rather hire a heavy Brooklyn accent for
$20 an hour.
