Not starting a licencing war, but I chose the GPL. The GPL suits me,
and I would assume your business as: if a competitor were to use my code
and seek a competitive advantage, they would have to compete on the same
basis as me.
A non-copyleft licence allows my competitors to lift my code. I would
prefer that if my competitors do not wish to compete on the same basis,
that they do not get a head start by lifting my code. They can start
from scratch like I originally did.
My situation is different from Colm's, so that explains the difference
in licencing choice. Well... that and the fact that I belive the dogma
of Richard Stallman.
The LGPL is generally a good half way house between GPL and BSD.
