Nope - 10baseT & 100baseT use 2 pairs (4 wires).
1000baseT uses all 4 pairs ( 8 wires )

All the current 802.blah standards are freely downloadable

Section 14.1.2 says

14.1.2.1 - Twisted pair link: A twisted-pair link segment and its two attached
MAUs
14.1.2.2 - Twisted pair segment: Two simplex link segments for connecting two
MAUs

If you read the spec you'll see how it handles half & full duplex links.
