I _open_ them all the time, actually.  Here's one that arrived in a
password-accessible ZIP archive (a mail then classified as spam by SA,
by the way):

/tmp $ ls -l info*     
-rw-------    1 rick     rick        12420 2004-03-02 21:51 info.zip

/tmp $ unzip info.zip

[Creates hbeeime.exe .]

Running strings on it, one sees the usual collection of DLL names and
registry keys.  I wonder if it's worth adding to my MS-Windows malware
museum (http://linuxmafia.com/pub/ms-windows/malware/)?
