Subject: Re: OFF TOPIC: Network Cabling

All in all its looking like almost €70 a cable, which seems crazy to me.

Is this something you can do yourself if you buy the right equipment? If so what does it involve?

A word of warning if you do choose to run this yourself - it's certainly possible, but remember you're deploying something that will last a LONG time, probably much longer than any one piece of computer equipment you deploy. What works adequately now might be fine down the road, or might start to give headaches in two years and have to be replaced in five. When you have to replace cabling in a room with live equipment, downtime and expense suddenly go up sharply.

So if the offers you're getting are way out of range, fair enough, but bear in mind that if there's one thing that it pays to get right the first time, it's cabling.
