Hello,
First I want to thank those who have sent me emails with suggestions
already, I really appreciate it!
In addition to the info I've already gotten, do people have any suggestions
on how independent contractors or small IT companies find clients?
I currently have a few consulting clients (mostly through networking), but
I'm always interested in ways to grow. For example, do folks find contracts
through ORPIN? Do you find success calling up companies and asking to speak
with their purchasing or IT department? Does the SBA offer anything? Does
getting an Oregon ESB certification for your business help?
Thanks again,
Ben Strackany

I was wondering if anyone had suggestions on good websites or associations for
finding software development contracts. I'm new to the area, so I don't know a
lot of NW/Portland-specific ways.
I know about Dice, Monster, CareerBuilder, Indeed, CraigsList, RentACoder,
AgaveBlue, and that often the best way to find work is through networking, but
I wanted to know if there were additional suggestions that people were willing
to share.
Best regards,
