You could check out SourceOffSite, it's cheap & integrates w/ VS very well.

Also if you're going to be a build master you could read up on msbuild and
nant some, if you haven't already.

          Greetings,
I'm working on a contract where an ASP.NET 2.0 website application is about 80
percent complete. I am currently the only developer at this time working on
this application and will be doing bug fixes and adding new features but this
will change soon. This application is for a large global company and currently
the application is not source controlled and was developed by one programmer
over a six month period. Future plans for the application included an admin
section that will be developed in India probably by one or two developers.
Another local developer will adding shopping cart functionality to the
application over the next six months and will be working onsite and offsite
(50/50). After six months he will be going back to India and may be doing bug
fixes and enhancements to his code base. Since I also will be working onsite
and offsite (50/50) I'm thinking about setting up Visual Source Safe for this
application as described by the links below.

Lock-Modify-Unlock

(SSL)http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/ms181053.aspx

Since most of the development will take place offsite I want remote access to
be by the VSS "SourceSafe Internet plug-in in for Visual Studio" using SSL.
Since I've never been the build master but will now wear this hat I would like
to know if anyone is currently using this plug-in for remote development and
what are the pros, cons and pit falls of this approach. Any and all suggestions
are welcome. Also I should add I would prefer to stick with Visual Source Safe
and not resort to a third party tool that doesn't integrate tightly with Visual
Studio. Thanks.
