Job Description: Eduworks Corporation seeks an experienced C#/.Net
developer to work on federally funded R&D projects in advanced
distributed learning. The specific project for which we are hiring
involves creating a .Net version of a prototype VB application designed
to convert, disaggregate and recombine e-learning courseware into
instructionally meaningful SCORM content. The new version will be
integrated via .Net with a SCORM-based authoring and assembly platform
built by a center at Mississippi State University. The project is funded
for one year with continued funding anticipated for this and related
projects. The project team includes four organizations. This position is
the key position, responsible for the heavy lifting in the development
area.
Qualifications: This position requires the advanced technical skills and
demonstrated ability to develop and test Web-based application software
and Web services in a .Net environment. Experience and demonstrated
knowledge of XML and XSD is essential and experience with XML formats
for digital content is a plus. Also required are the demonstrated
abilities to write clear technical documentation, to take initiative and
produce results with general guidance, to determine and meet deadlines,
to build effective working relationships with a heterogeneous team, and
to work intensely on a project while maintaining a sense of balance and
humor. Desired qualifications include a university degree and hands-on
experience with software, protocols and standards relevant to advanced
distributed learning, e.g. learning management systems, Macromedia
Authorware / Director / Flash / Dreamweaver, and SCORM. Experience as
part of projects with organization-wide impact is required.
Compensation and Starting Date: This is a full-time position with full
benefits and a base salary between $6,000 and $6250 per month. The
starting date is October 1, 2005.
