Web Services question/debate: msg#00042

Subject: Web Services question/debate
My boss at the new job was complaining about a third party web service
the other
day. Something about how it requires an object. I asked him if the service
required a serialized version of an object and he said something like that.
Bottom line is that he thinks the web service is doing something very unusual
and we will have a hard time working with it because of that.

So I did a little investigating. The code is creating a new object of a type
that is part of the web service. Call it Order. Then it's populating the props
of the new object, order (OrderID etc). Then it's calling something like
OrderUpdate and passing the order object to the OrderUpdate method.
(Names have
been changed to protect my NDA/CYA).

This seems totally normal to me. Am I missing something? Maybe the boss didn't
tell me all of the story.
