Thanks for the prompt reply! I sent basically the same message to a couple people before but haven't heard back. When the site was back up I was able to visit the IRC channel, where I found out, as you said Jacques, that uuu is practically dead. I had hoped a consolidation effort between our projects would liven things up.
Archy is in its infancy, but we at least have something to compile (like uuu). We're about to ramp up our efforts (i.e. revive the project after a year-long hiatus) to incorporate
Holocene into Archy as the internet component/interface. I have spoken with David Brin (he created the concept of Holocene and holds a patent to it) and he just said "Anything to get Holocene out there," which is good enough for me :)
It just seems like everything is there for us for build the next computing system--all I had to do was bring the ideas together, and that's what I'm doing with Archy and Holocene, and would like to make this system stand-alone with uuu (to get rid of all the "overhead" that Windows/OSX/Linux brings with them--Archy will basically be its own thing once we complete the basic framework, which includes the ZUI).
We're going to build a prototype of the Archy/Holocene hybrid soon, and all I'm asking is that we be mindful of each other (swap code, check compatibility every now and then--e.g. you can use Archy as your text editor, and we could use orthogonal persistence when/if you get it).
We would also like your help with testing Archy and get some ideas from you, so please stop by our forums some time--we'd greatly appreciate your feedback.
Cheers, -Corey

Hi,
I'm happy to hear from the Archy people. The first time I tried Archy, I realized that hope for a better way of working with data was not completely dead. Moreover, I share many ideas with the Archy interface. I found it a bit complex to use (I believe in simple
things), but overall I definitely liked the idea.
And... yes, I can imagine Archy as the interface to Unununium, providing we add some improvements to cover aspects like real time configuration changes and close to hardware management, document
retrieval and sharing with internet fellows, etc. But still, it's interesting.
The bad part now: Unununium is almost dead. In fact, we haven't written any line of code for many months (years?) now. But... I still
want to make Unununium live, so I look forward to define some clear ideas to some "new" UI design that might be related to Archy ideas.
