libtckpt: msg#00097

Subject: libtckpt
Hi everyone,

After a few days of googling the web in search of a checkpointing
library that would work 100% userspace and support threads, I found this:

http://sourceforge.net/projects/mtckpt/

In short, this library, called libtckpt (notice the t in the middle)
should support threads and can be parametrized to take snapshots at
regular intervals. If we could compile it in unununium, it would simply
rock. The problem is that development was stopped when the patches (for
glibc) and code were compiling fine with a kernel 2.2, glibc 2.1.2 and
gcc 2.8... I've played with the makefile and could avoid trouble with
compiler/make versions... but the problem is that it complains about
many other things.

So, if a porting guru could see if there is something to do with this
lib, that would be great to see what we can get out of this.

Thanks,

Jacques Mony
