Works here:
Virtual console 1 assigned device '/dev/pts/2'
Virtual console 2 assigned device '/dev/pts/3'
Serial line 0 assigned device '/dev/pts/4'
Debian GNU/Linux 3.0 usermode ttys/0
usermode login:
# Now I run 'screen /dev/pts/2' in another window, get a login prompt, and

Virtual console 1 assigned device '/dev/pts/2'
# Another 'screen /dev/pts/2' gives me the login prompt again.
