[uml-user] Can't Login. Same problem on all root_fs images: msg#00251

Subject: [uml-user] Can't Login. Same problem on all root_fs images
Hi All,

Seems like a dumb problem, but I am stumped. I've got two problems no
matter what root fs I use. I'm running on a RH8 host where I have ssh only
root access. When I run linux ubd0=root_fs... the boot up looks fine, init
startes everything up, then I get:

"Unauthorized access to this system is strictly prohibited.
redhat72 login: Warning: This program is an suid-root program or is being
run by the root user. The full text of the error or warning message cannot
be safely formatted in this environment. You may get a more descriptive
message by running the program as a non-root user or by removing the suid
bit on the executable.
                                                                          xterm
Xt
error:
Can't
open
display:
%s"

I assume this is where the root_fs is trying to start x? How can I avoid
this? I can see all the uml processes running on the host and it appears
that the uml is up, I just can't log in. Which brings up my 2nd problem.
I've been trying a few differnt methods to attach a console with no joy.
I've tried:

linux con0=port:9999
linux con1=tty:/dev/tty6 ssl=port:9999
linux con=/dev/null con1=port:9999
etc... tcp 9999 is open on the host and a connection is made but it seems
nothing is attached.

Any advise?
