Re: [uml-user] Help regarding the filesystem: msg#00036

Subject: Re: [uml-user] Help regarding the filesystem
I'm early in thinking about how uml could boot of a hostfs. Given that you can boot your host machine, you could probably boot a uml off the same file-system, so that might help you. (If people know why this is impossible, please feel free to tell me)

If it would, you could also (I think, but don't know how) mount a file on your host machine as a loop-back file-system, copy the important bits of your host file-system into it, unmount it and use it as a ubd.

I expect that you can work out the second one faster than I can work out the first.

Hi all,

Does anyone know about a filesystem which does not execute cmov. Also does anyone know a filesystem that's built for earlier processors.
Please help.

Thx,
Amita
