Edgy+1 : Planning for the next Edubuntu version : Features & Comments & Suggestions |
Hi All,
BACKGROUND
----------
As many of you are already aware, a new version of Ubuntu and Edubuntu
and Kubuntu is released every 6 months.
The Edgy release is due out on October 26th it is now in Beta.
>From there the whole cycle starts again; to plan, build and release
Edgy+1 in April 2007.
SPEC PLANNING
-------------
Specifications for Edgy+1 Ubuntu and the rest of the family will be
hammered out at the Ubuntu Developer Summit in the second week of
November.
REQUEST
-------
Please can you send ideas and suggestions for features you'd like to see
on the table for discussion.
If you can, please break the comments into:
* Ubuntu
- base operating system
- the features here would apply across Ubuntu / Edubuntu / Kubuntu
* Edubuntu
- the classroom desktop
- the classroom server
We'll debate the suggestions in the list, and then take the popular ones
forward.
So please feel free to comment on other people suggestions.
