bob can you list your computer specifications here... like processor type. Your processor might just be a 64bit processor hence the reason the kernel went into a panic and told you that you might have to install a 64 bit version of the ubuntu server OS. I like the server OS myself and have ran thus far 5 servers for months on end with no issue.
