HP 4C, (Properly terminated SCSI) Scanner not visible under 9.04

   The subject line says it all really. I am currently using 8.04 but am 
having some issues with it and decided to try 9.04. Anyway, long story 
short.. install 9.04, fire up the XSane scanning tool and it sees my ATI 
All In Wonder but does not see the SCSI Scanner (8.04 has no problem). 
So I check to see if Sane can see the scanner and the answer is "yes". 
SO I tried Fedora 10... same problem, then I tried Ubuntu 8.10, and 
still there is no joy.
   Anybody else run into this SCSI scanner problem and resolve it?
