I would say this is more than likely, since there is no code in the live CD
creation bits that are likely used for usb creation.

I'd also like to add that a live DVD would not necessarily perform well,
especially if users try and test out applications from the DVD. Since the
beginning of the project, the aim was to produce a high quality installable set
of applications for studio related work in audio, video, or graphics, and
producing a live DVD was not considered something that would be useful.

Just because everyone else has live disks, doesn't mean studio has to as well.
