Summary: Windows XP Time Zone

Initial Comment:
XMLTV version 0.5.34
Windows XP Pro SP1

Windows has two GMT timezones for daylight savings
reasons.

Setting the GMT timezone for London makes xmltv think
the time zone is +0100 (which is added to all program
times).
Setting to GMT for Casablanca sets the time zone to
+0000, which is correct.
Wetting the time zone to +0100 in windows results in
XMLTV setting the value to +0200 which is wrong, this
seems to be an indexing or enumeration which dosn't
count that the first two values are both for time zone
(+0000).

what grabber are you using?

+0100 is not a timeZONE but a timeOFFSET.

Now, timezones can be a very confusing issue.

GMT (now called UTC) by never changes in summer by definition.

In the winter, I think London is in the "Western European
Timezone (WET)" which happens to be the same as GMT. (+0000
offset)

In the summer, London follows "Brittish Summer Time" or BST
(BST is not unique) which as a GMT offset of +0100.

Robert

Do you have "Automatically adjust clock for daylight saving
changes" set in your Windows XP?
If not - then this is probably the issue (you would have set
the PC to the right local time rather than have it adjust the
hour for UK sumer automatically)
