I believe the problem was the zap2it server returning a 500
error code even though the requested web page is downloaded correctly,
so the patch was to just ignore that error code and assume the request
succeeded.

The problem started Monday morning and persisted until at
least Wednesday (sorry, I didn't save debug logs). That patch
definitely fixed things for me. However, it looks like zap2it has now
fixed things on their end -- I am also unable to reproduce the false
500 error code problem any more.
