I want to move all of the programs, both grabbers and filters. Most
of these are based on the XMLTV.pm library which handles reading and
writing so for the XML format itself I only need to change that. But
the data structures it returns to the application ought to change as
well now that there is more information.
I estimate about a week's work to move everything over to the new
format, then there is the task of providing backwards and forwards
conversion. (Ideally the newer programs should be able to
transparently read the old format, and maybe even write it if a magic
environment variable is set.)
Since there are at least four new grabbers to be included, plus the
tv_grab_hu that was recently added to CVS (and actually I have two
grabbers to write myself at some point), I expect another couple of
releases in the 0.5.x series to clear the backlog.
