Re: Out of Date listings for UK Channels: msg#00028

Subject: Re: Out of Date listings for UK Channels
Looks like a bug in Makefile.PL, set LC_ALL to en_US and retry.
For instance:
 % LC_ALL=en_US perl Makefile.PL

this fix it ?

Thanks for all your advice

The original reason I posted was because I was having problems getting
channels like BBC4, I through reading the code realised that it looked
up knowledge.bbc.co.uk to an Ananova id to use in the php command line
but as I was unable to get bbc4 last night I have been trying to
install 0.5.6 but I gewt this error message on tne make file

Use of uninitialized value in concatenation (.) or string at Makefile.PL
line 99, <FH> line 1.

using rehat 8.0 do you have any advice?

The CVS version I checked out a few days before 0.5.6, does have the new
channels in, although in the case of BBC4 it's named as the not so
obvious knowledge.bbc.co.uk (BBC was BBC Knowledge, but the BBC are
renaming channels at the minute).

The channels could be changed in channel_id's to give xmltvid's that
make more sense -but for applications which aren't expecting a
change-over this could cause problems.

As for the ondigital listings, OnDigital provided a number of channels
which has slight variations to the real channel, e.g. Sky One.
These could be removed - however this is only housekeeping so isn't
really as important.

Robert, was there any other channels which were missing? are you using
Freeview? There are a few channels which are due to be launched next
week, which it looks as though Ananova aren't pushing out listings for
yet - but I'll take a look into that next week when the channels are
live.
