Did you have Java installed when you installed FreeGuide?  If not, try 
uninstalling FreeGuide and re-installing.

If you did have Java installed, could you try doing the following?

- Open a Cmd or DOS window
- Type the following:

cd "C:\Program Files\FreeGuide" (Then press RETURN)
java -jar FreeGuide.jar > log.txt (Then press RETURN)

- Try to run the first time wizard from the menu, and get it to go wrong 
as normal.
- Send the file C:\Program Files\FreeGuide\log.txt with an email to the 
list.
