XTM, RDF / RDFS, and OWL: msg#00012

Subject: XTM, RDF / RDFS, and OWL
Dear mailing list readers,

My name is Chi-Lun Chung and I am a graduate student.
My major is Library and Information Studies.

I'm studying about XTM, RDF/RDFS, and OWL for my thesis.
I feel a great interest in the role of "knowledge representation" among them,
and try to compare the type and the level of concept (or knowledge) they can express.
(from the viewpoint of syntax and semantic)

I can find a lot of comparisons between Topic Maps and RDF,
but cannot find the comparisons among Topic Maps, RDF/RDFS, and Ontology.

I wonder if I am wrong?
Do you think it is appropriate to compare the "knowledge representation" among them?

Thanks in advance and best regards,

Chi-Lun Chung
