the unclear state of the two (in some ways, but only some) contradictory
abstract structures is mainly due to misunderstandings and politics
within the ISO process.

I won't say more here, since I heard that disagreements within ISO
start to resolve and I do not want to harm that process by making
statements about either one of the 'models' or their relationship.
