Re: TM and NLP: msg#00060text.xml.xtm.general
Hi! Has anyone seen an application of topic maps to linguistic data? I'd I doubt this is precisely what You are looking for, but I'm currently writing my MA-thesis on the application of TM to model class-hierarchies of the object oriented language LPS (Linguistische ProgrammierSprache = linguistic programming language). LPS describes a natural language's grammar using the oo-paradigm. The grammar is then used to e.g. parse and generate written language. So, indirectly, I'm using TM to model linguistic data (but from the competence/langue side, not linguistic data in the sense of performance/parole). If you are interested, I could send you some more information (though I'm not done with the thesis yet). ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ----- Knud Möller - Institut für Sprachliche Informationsverarbeitung, Universität zu Köln (Department of Linguistic Data Processing, University of Cologne, Germany) |
